“I have known Pat Wager for more than 20 years and have had the privilege of working with her for the advancement of many nonprofit organizations. She is the consummate professional who understands the fundraising profession from the inside out. In a time when many seek quick results and fast answers, Pat has led the way as a shinning example of what philanthropy is all about: building and fostering long-term relationships that change and make a positive difference in people’s lives. She has raised hundreds of millions of dollars in private support in her career from individuals, corporations and foundations. But regardless the amount or source of philanthropic support, she has always excelled in establishing, nurturing and growing the vital relationship between the donor and the organization, the benefactor and those who have benefited from the much-needed philanthropic support. She cherishes and treasures the relationships and treats them with the highest levels of professionalism and respect which is why she is not merely successful in helping others leave a philanthropic legacy, she, too, leaves one in their wake. She is a philanthropic leader, mentor and teacher par excellence. A philanthropist in her own right, she leads by example and has always served to mentor and teach others in the field of philanthropy to advance our profession and help mold our next generation of professionals.”
